It's been a while since we did an Aria update. So to begin with, here are some pictures she personally selected from yesterday's photo shoot:
And just in case anyone forgets that other people live here too, here are some of the rest of the fam:
And here's the second picture Aria has ever taken. This one was with a little help from Daddy, since the first picture she took was of her lap. :)
Aria's here in a chair next to me, and something tells me she's not going to let me type for long. So here's a quick-like summary of her favorite activities right now:
1 - Making turtles with the playdough that she and Mommy made together.
2 - Making anybody put on the fish puppet and read books, talk about stuff, etc.
3 - Losing, and subsequently (hopefully) finding, the little fish toys. Along the way, the fish want to go over the human bridge from the coffee table to the couch and back about 1,000 times. Sometimes the bridge is a bouncy bridge and the fish have a bit of trouble making their way.
4 - Writing words on the computer. She can now type Mommy, Daddy, Aria, Nana, Zoo, Slide, and some other words by herself. In fact, she can turn the computer on, click on the shortcut to the word document, and start typing words all by herself. She also knows about caps lock ("to make the letters big" or "to make the letters small"), delete ("to go backwards"), arrow keys, and enter key.
But don't take my word for it:
5 - Listening to music. She can also open iTunes all by herself, press play, and go forwards & backwards until she finds the songs she likes. For some reason right now she is obsessed with fish, so she likes "Dance to your Daddy" ("You shall get a fishy / on a little dishy") and of course "Fish" by Mr. Scruff (she cracks up when he says "and I'm out like a trout").
6 - Likes to go in the game closet and get any game with lots of little pieces - e.g. Scrabble, Stratego, Boggle, Backgammon, Chess, etc - and strew them all over the living room. Also likes to throw playing cards everywhere.
7 - She likes to make the Boo Blinkers (some plastic pumpkin lights) talk to each other, take naps, etc.
8 - Does NOT like to leave the house too much, under practically any circumstance. Yesterday we decided to take a walk to the ice cream shop (ICE CREAM, for crying out loud!) and we practically had to drag her out kicking and screaming. Because, of course, she's got a pretty good idea that there might be some ice cream in the freezer, and why do we have to go OUT to get it when we could stay and have it right HERE?
9 - Exception to above rule: Likes to go and visit her friends McKenna (8), Annaliese (5), and Genevieve (2), who live in Loomis, just north of Roseville. Today we went to their house and Aria spent nearly two hours playing in the hot tub.
